TLDR: luthier, musician, engineer

When my father, David Yancey (1952-2009), started Yancey Music Center in 1993 (a full-line retail music store, in Ormond Beach, FL) I instantly became the guitar and amp tech, partly out of necessity but mostly out of extreme interest. I was only 15 at the time.

By the time I made my first bass in 1997 I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do and how to do it. Since university I’ve been working in the integrated circuit design business while simultaneously building instruments and playing/recording music.

What I bring to the table is a whole-brained design process, fine attention to detail and problem-solving skills honed by years in a high-stakes engineering industry, coupled with artistry and constant in-the-trenches musical experiences.
